Ms Hollywood

I was playing with Photoshop with one of the pictures I took this weekend. I really like this one.

This is Heather at the Graduation - doesn't she look like Ms. Hollywood.

Graduation Weekend

This past weekend we had graduation on Friday.......
and then there was graduation on Saturday...

Brock graduated on Friday night. He is like another child of ours and we couldn't be more proud of what he has accomplished. He will be attending college in Stevens Point in fall. Way to go Brock!!

Brock and his sister. They are so close - one more reason to be proud. I am sure she will miss him when he leaves for school.

Brock and his older sister (ok cousin). But like I said we think he and his sister like our own. So special to us all.

Then Saturday we went to the Twin Cities. Jenn graduated from Hamline University with her Masters Degree in Public Administration. Look out world - Here she comes. Jenn has worked so hard not only to get her bachelors from River Falls, but also as she continued to work full time and go to school at night and weekends to obtain her Masters. For those of you who know her she continued to volunteer for all the organizations she believes in. We couldn't be more proud of her. She is a bright, talented, beautiful young woman who has the whole world in front of her.

Here is her campaign picture. She has talked about running for office....

After graduation we went to Spill the Wine for dinner (downtown Minneapolis) and then to The "W" for a post grad party with her friends. Here is Jenn and Heather at Spill the Wine.

Heather with her Raspberry Kiss Martini (see the dry ice bubbling?)

A view from The "W" - Downtown Minneapolis. We were on the 27th floor - what a view of the city.

The weekend ended not only with graduations but also with get-togethers with friends on Sunday night and Monday evening. A busy weekend - but so memorable. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to spend time with.

Signs of Spring

Everyone who knows us, knows that we feed the birds. We have a "smorgasbord" for the birds in our backyard. We have lots of different birds - everything from finches to cardinals and orioles. The orioles returned a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky enough to get a photo of them on the feeder. By the way - orioles love grape jelly. Hopefully they will stick around for the summer.

Joni & Bob's Wedding

Saturday was Joni and Bob's wedding and although the two of them had so much to overcome that day - including the blustery weather and the flu running through the wedding party (even Bob was sick on his wedding day), they had a beautiful wedding. Joni wanted a garden theme which was a lot of fun to decorate. Here are a couple of sneak peeks from her wedding. I don't want to post too many - you'll have to check out Joni's Blog for more photos.

This first photo is of her wedding cupcakes. Joni wanted cupcakes rather than a traditional wedding cake and with the garden theme, I just couldn't set them on a plate so I made "pots of flowers" of of her cupcakes and set it up on a gardener's potting bench, etc.

This is a shot of the hall. I came up with a "hair-brained" idea to create a pergola over the dance floor. The ceiling is all white ribbon which took about 7 1/2 hours to put up (not including the cutting and prep work) but it turned out absolutely beautiful. It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful bride - (Bob looked good too.) I thank everyone who helped me make my crazy ideas happen and wish Joni and Bob lots of happiness as they begin their life together - you both deserve it.

Are The Fish Bitin' Yet?

Tonite Aubree came over to see if the fish were biting. She spent quite a while on the dock with her new Barbie fish pole. Papa helped her with the hook, bobber, worm, etc. She went looking for just the right worm to use for fishing. She likes to help Nana in the garden most of the time looking for worms. Tonite she started out by helping Papa with the "chores" - feed the ducks, birds, etc. Then she decided she would come watch Nana work in her flowers. She sat on one of the rocks and told me she had to watch me for a while because some day when she has her own place she needs to know how to do that stuff. What a kid! She then decided to see if the fish were biting...............

She watched that bobber for the longest time. Papa told her she had to watch and when it stood up - there would be a fish on there.

No Luck for tonite.................
But she made sure Papa would come and pick her up on the four wheeler again tomorrow nite so she could try again. Grandkids are just the best!
