Brock's Graduation Party

I know that we just got back from vacation, but wanted to post this before I post a couple of the vacation/wedding photos. The weekend before we left for Colorado, we had Brock's graduation party. Here is Brock with his cake.

A photo of CJ and one of her dancing with her dad. She is getting so grown-up. Her brother Brock is in a band that played for the party that day. They did a great job. It is called Sojourner (they used to be 5 for 1) and they play a wide variety of music. They were playing a lot of 80's - lots of fun. Brock thought his sister should have a slow dance with her dad. So sweet and made me all teary-eyed.

This crazy photo is not one I would really want anyone to see, but..... I promised a couple of people I would post it and am doing as I said. (I have gotten a couple of emails asking where it is). Not entirely sure how it started, but the band decided I should sing with them - I told them I didn't have nearly enough wine to do that, but at one point I ended up doing it anyway. (Haven't done that in a long time.) Here is a pic that someone snapped so I had to post it. BTW - Thanks a lot L.
The party was at the Ball Diamond and they have several benches for people to sit on - I think they need new ones. They are so wobbly, I had to take a pic of J & H when they were sitting on it. They were on there for the longest time and we kept laughing at how it was "leaning" - Crazy.

Here is Brock playing in the band -As you can see he is the drummer. (Notice he already has a "groupie") She was such a sweetie. I have a bunch of pics of her staring at him (first crush?)

The View from Jenn's Condo

We are on our way home tonite and stopped to spend the evening with Jenn. We decided to take her to dinner for her birthday and spend the night. We walked to dinner at a restaurant downtown - Kincaids. Excellent food and so enjoyable to spend some time with her.

Here are a couple of shots of the view from her balcony. Although I am a country girl at heart and love my gardens, pond, etc., her views are really quite spectacular at night. The top one is St. Paul Cathedral and the second is of the State Capital. She is only a couple blocks from the capitol and we have walked up to it several times.

There is another large church right below her building that plays music every 15 minutes during the day (until 9:00 p.m. daily). It is beautiful - unless you are here for a long time at which time you are ready to scream by the end of the day. Good thing when you close the windows and doors you don't hear it at all.

Happy Birthday Jenn

I wanted to post a baby picture of Jenn, but as most of you know we are out of state and I completely forgot to upload the photo to my laptop before I left - so this one will have to do. I'll do a baby photo as soon as we get home. We took this picture this past weekend at Brock's graduation party. Heather, Jenn, me and Annie.
Happy Birthday Jenn - We love you and hope you have a wonderful day. Love you lots!

June or January?

Is it June or is it January? I did inspections all morning and came home about 11:30. I was soaked and frozen to the bone. Yes - I started the fireplace (and it is still going). I hate working in the rain but, at least it wasn't snowing - although it was cold enough.

When is summer coming?????

Fun with Aubree

The other day Aubree came to spend some time with Nana and Papa. There is always so much to do when she is here. She decided to try fishing in the pond again. Papa went to buy different worms. Here he is casting for Aubree. (I should have posted a close up because Lorin is fishing with a kids - short- pink - Barbie - fishing pole.)

Tonite the fish were biting. Here is Aubree reeling in a fish. It must be a big one......

Here is the big fish. She actually caught several fish that night. Then she decided we had fished enough. So we played in the sand..... Rolled down the hill..... Checked the flowers...... Checked under the mulch for worms..... Tested the water in the pool......(She really wants to swim but the weather is just not cooperating). And then it just isn't a complete day with Nana and Papa without.....

A trip in the little car. Aubree and Nana rode in the Audi and Papa rode with Heather and Morgan. (Isn't he a good Papa). Aubree loves to ride with the top down. If it is cold she turns the seat on, turns up the heat and she has even been known to cover up with a blanket, but the top has to be down.

And this is was our big trip......Go get ice cream...... She has a lot of Papa's genes in her.

As always, spending time with her is such a wonderful thing. Have I mentioned that grandkids are great?
